The mileage log that keeps itself
Xorino Log detects your trips automatically — no start button, no extra hardware, no account. Get in, drive, done. Everything stays on your device.
In development — release planned for late 2026. For Android.
What a mileage log has to do
A mileage log only saves you tax if it is accepted. What that takes depends on where you live — and Xorino Log records what every tax authority has in common:
| Date of every trip | automatic |
| Odometer readings at start and end | reminder for the reading, plus fuel stops as reference points |
| Destination, purpose, business contact | suggested from learned places, confirmed with one tap |
| Personal trips kept separate | categories: business, personal, commute |
| Recorded close to the time of travel | catch-up list with a deadline indicator |
| No silent changes after the fact | change log, cryptographically chained and shown in the export |
| No gaps | gaps are made visible, never quietly closed |
There is no tax template for your country yet. Xorino Log still works: kilometres or miles, your own rate per unit, complete trips with date, time, odometer readings and a change log — and an export you can hand in wherever a mileage log is required. What is missing are your country's official rates and deadlines; the app does not calculate those for you.
Detailed guides exist for Germany and Austria so far, in German. Which countries have their own template, and which come next: see Länder.
How the detection works
The app does not wait for a button. It recognises from motion and from the connection to your car that a trip has started, and records it — even with your phone in your pocket.
- No start button. Anyone who has to press one will forget it eventually — and a forgotten trip is a gap in the log.
- No extra hardware. No plug in the cigarette lighter, no beacon on the dashboard, no battery to replace.
- Motion-based detection instead of constant GPS. The app does not track your location without pause; it reacts to the fact that you are moving.
Your data stays with you
No account. No cloud. No servers.
Xorino Log processes location and motion data entirely on your device. There is nothing to register, nothing to sync, and nothing we could know about you. That is why the Play data safety section says, literally, "No data collected".
Two things we name because they are true:
If you turn on the optional map view, the app loads map tiles from a Xorino server. As with any request on the internet, this technically reveals your approximate location. We do not log these requests. The map is off by default.
If you use Android's device backup, Android saves your mileage log — encrypted with your device passcode — to your own Google Drive, so it is not lost if your phone is. That is a function of your phone, not a transfer by us; we have no access to it, and you can turn it off.
And a rule that covers everything else: anything that needs the network is switched on separately, and you see it every time it is used.
